Award Eligibility + Expectations
The Wu Tsai Travel Awards application is open to Yale postdocs, grad students, or postgrads who are attending the Society for Neuroscience 2025 annual conference in San Diego, this November 15-19. We are offering two opportunities to support WTI trainees:
- WTI Travel Award – $450 honorarium to offset conference expenses for postdocs, grad students, and postgrads. Priority will be given to applicants whose research is particularly aligned with the Institute's mission, who are involved in Institute activities, and who are presenting at the conference.
- Dr. Sheri Choi Memorial Travel Award – $450 honorarium in remembrance of Dr. Sheri Choi, a postdoctoral researcher who studied infant cognition and was a valued member of the WTI community. This award supports postdocs who have demonstrated outstanding mentorship or community service in the past year.
Awardees will share their Yale experiences and interact with visitors at the Institute's booth or with students presenting at the Early Career Poster Session.
Recipients will receive an honorarium of $450, and as part of the award, agree to the following:
- Participate in a pre-conference orientation.
- Volunteer for two (2) two-hour shifts (four hours total) in the WTI booth or at the Early Career Poster Session. During this time, you will be expected to engage with visitors and students presenting posters, discussing your experiences at Yale and our WTI programs and community.
- Recipients will be responsible for registering attendees into the conference database, handing out swag as instructed, and helping with booth setup or take-down as needed.
