Molecular, cellular and developmental neurobiology

We study how axonal transport and the neuronal cytoskeleton support neuronal growth, the polarized trafficking of organelles to synapses and maintenance of axonal integrity. Our goal is to understand how these fundamental cell biological mechanisms function during normal neuronal development and maintenance, and how their breakdown leads to neurodegeneration.

Biography

Shaul received his BSc from Paris VII University and his PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science. He started his lab at Yale following postdoctoral training at Stanford, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience with a secondary appointment in the Department of Cell Biology.
