Biography

Lester completed his bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Puerto Rico's Rio Piedras Campus. As a graduate student at Yale, he is co-mentored by Dr. Kelly Cosgrove and Dr. Sarah Yip, who both study the biological mechanisms behind substance abuse and other psychiatric disorders with neuroimaging technologies. By understanding the cognitive and behavioral alterations occurring during substance abuse, we can identify relevant biomarkers to better aid treatment approaches. Outside of research, he enjoys playing guitar, watching anime, and collecting Funko Pops.
