Immunology and the central nervous system

We recently discovered that T cells migrating through the brain acquire the ability to secrete IFN gamma induced by the gut microbiome. We hypothesize that these T cells may modulate synaptic pruning by driving microglia function.

I am a immunologist with an interest in CNS inflammation. As a Neurologist, I am chairman of the Department of Neurology. My greatest joy on earth now is spending time with my two granddaughters!
