Drug delivery to the central nervous system
SALTZMAN Research Group has a long interest in understanding modes of molecular transport in the brain and using this understanding to design novel drug delivery systems to treat brain tumors, neurodegeneration, and other neurological diseases. To accomplish this, our laboratory is creating new technology, based on the use of biocompatible polymer materials, for the controlled delivery of drugs, proteins, and genes to treat and prevent disease.
