Nanthia Suthana, PhD

Associate Professor, Departments of Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, and Bioengineering, UCLA

Nanthia Suthana is a cognitive neuroscientist interested in human learning and memory.

Recent technology enables studying deep brain activity during memory phenomena in humans navigating real or virtual environments. These methods show dynamic modulation of hippocampal, entorhinal, and amygdala activity by factors like movement speed, eye movements, emotional valence, and memory success. This presentation will provide an overview of these findings and explore potential clinical applications, particularly in treating neuropsychiatric disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

Please join us on February 12, 2024, for "Unraveling memories on the go: insights from mobile intracranial EEG recordings in humans."
